HUNGARIAN AIRBUS HELICOPTER TO SERVE IN EUFOR

The Hungarian Armed Forces is sending a modern Airbus H225M helicopter to perform trnasport tasks within the framework of EUFOR, the EU’s mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the defence ministry said on Tuesday. Zsolt Kutnyánszky, the state secretary for defence policy and army development, said in a camp in Butmir, near Sarajevo, that the Airbus will replace an Mi-17 helicopter serving in EUFOR. The Airbus has recently finished a mission fighting wildfires in Macedonia, and will be ready for deployment in the Butmir camp within two months, he said. Speaking to the troops serving in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kutnyánszky said their place of deployment, the Western Balkans, was key to European peace. The performance of the Hungarian troops, the largest contingent in EUFOR, is exemplary, he said.
