The Fidesz-Christian Democrats group in the European Parliament held a meeting for the re-election of officials on Tuesday and Tamás Deutsch was re-elected head of the delegation and Kinga Gal its chairperson, the group said in a statement. The appointments are in force for the next two and a half years of the EP term. Deutsch was the Fidesz-KDNP list leader in the 2024 EP election and has been the head of the Fidesz EP delegation since July 2019. Gál is the first vice-president of the Patriots for Europe EP group and after her appointment to Fidesz deputy leader in 2021, she was re-elected in 2023.
