The police have detained an Albanian national who attempted to smuggle machine guns, handguns and several thousand rounds of ammunition from Serbia to Hungary, the public prosecutor’s office of southern Hungary told MTI. The suspect was driving a minibus which was found to contain nine machine guns, three handguns and some 2,700 rounds of ammunition, a spokesperson said. Criminal proceedings have been initiated while the suspect is remanded in custody.
