Output of Hungary’s industrial sector fell by an annual 4.1% in March, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data on Friday. March output dropped by 4% when adjusted for the number of working days. Month on month, output edged up a seasonally and working day-adjusted 0.2%.
Industrial exports edged up an annual 0.4%. Automotive exports jumped by 31%, while electrical machinery manufacturing was up 23%. Output of the food, drinks and tobacco segment slipped by 13.3%. Industrial sales fell 7.5% in March. Export sales edged up 0.4% but domestic sales dropped by 17%. For the period January-March, output dropped by an annual 3.1%.
