HOUSE SPEAKER EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO SERBIAN COUNTERPART OVER MASS SHOOTING

Speaker of Parliament László Kövér on Friday expressed his condolences to Vladimir Orlić, his Serbian counterpart, over a mass shooting near Belgrade that left eight dead, Parliament’s press office said. In his message to Orlić, Kövér said he had been shocked to learn that Serbia had been shaken by another mass shooting just a day after the one in Belgrade’s Vladislav Ribnikar primary school.
The speaker expressed his condolences on behalf of Hungary’s parliament to the families of the victims of the shooting near Mladenovac, saying he shared their grief. “It is with deep sympathy that I keep the families of the victims in my thoughts at this painful time,” Kövér said, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured in the mass shooting. Eight people were killed and 13 injured when a gunman opened fire from an automatic rifle in and around the municipality of Mladenovac near Belgrade late on Thursday. The attacker has been arrested.
