HUNGARY-SERBIA MILITARY COOPERATION

Viktor Orbán and Aleksandar Vučić have discussed raising military industrial cooperation between Hungary and Serbia to a new level.

The prime minister had talks with the Serbian president in Belgrade on Saturday, the prime minister’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi, said, noting that Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, the defence minister, and László Palkovics, the chief executive of N7 Nemzeti Védelmi Ipari Innovation Holding, were among officials attending the talks. Besides discussing ways to deepen cooperation on military technology and development, Orbán and Vučić reviewed the European security situation and developments around the war in Ukraine, as well as the outlook for the European integration of the Western Balkans. The leaders were scheduled to visit Batajnica airbase to view “Granit 2023”, a military capability demonstration organised as part of Serbian Armed Forces Day.
