JUSTICE MIN: 'WE DO NOT WISH TO ASSIST TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE HUNGARIAN AND EUROPEAN LEFT-WING FUNDED BY SOROS-DOLLARS'

Justice Minister Judit Varga said on Monday that she had refused a request by members of the European Parliament’s PEGA Committee to meet her. Varga, who is in charge of European Union affairs, said in a bilingual post on Facebook that in line with the Treaty on European Union, safeguarding national security remains the exclusive competence of the member states but “the mandate of the PEGA Committee is dangerously exceeding EU and institutional competences”. “The Hungarian Government is opposed to these practices, and therefore, in the interest of protecting the rule of law, we will not endorse them by cooperating with the PEGA Committee,” she added. Varga said she was not in a position to meet the delegation, adding that “we do not wish to assist to the performance of the Hungarian and European left-wing funded by Soros-dollars”. The ten-member EP delegation of the PEGA Committee arrived for a two-day visit to Budapest on Monday.
