Output of Hungary’s construction sector rose by an annual 7.0% in November, after falling by 2.5% in the previous month, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Monday. Output of the buildings segment increased by 18.6% but civil engineering output slipped by 6.9%. In absolute terms, construction sector output reached 798 billion forints (EUR 2bn) in November. The buildings segment accounted for 62% of the total. In a month-on-month comparison, construction sector output expanded by 6.9%, adjusted for seasonal and workday effects. For the period January-November, output increased by 4.2% year-on-year. Order stock was 1.0% lower at the end of November than twelve months earlier. Buildings segment orders rose by 5.0% but civil engineering orders fell by 5.0%. New orders climbed 3.8% during the period, as new orders in the buildings segment were up 9.6% but new civil engineering orders decreased by 4.2%.
