The plans of a bridge over the Danube at Mohács, in southern Hungary, are expected to be completed in the first half of next year and construction could start in 18 months or two years once the public procurement tender is successfully concluded, the minister of innovation and development said. The four-lane bridge will be part of the M9 motorway crossing Hungary’s western, southern and eastern areas, he told a press conference. Palkovics said preparations for the project would cost 1.3 billion forints (EUR 3.6m).
