TOROCZKAI RE-ELECTED LEADER OF MI HAZÁNK

László Toroczkai was re-elected leader of the radical nationalist non-parliamentary Mi Hazánk (Our Homeland) party at its congress in Budapest.
Delegates to the congress also elected the board that will lead the party’s 2022 general election campaign, Toroczkai told reporters during a break in the meeting.
Dóra Dúró and Előd Novák have been re-elected as the party’s deputy leaders and they will be joined in their roles by MP István Apáti, Zoltan Pakusza, Mi Hazánk’s Miskolc representative, and Dávid Dócs, mayor of the village of Cserháthaláp in northern Hungary.
Concerning his party’s future directions, Toroczkai said the delegates had approved the political direction Mi Hazánk has pursued up to this point. The party does not want to be a part of either the “united left-liberal bloc or the power centre around [ruling] Fidesz”, he added. “Instead, Mi Hazánk wants to build a Hungarian national economy that benefits the Hungarian people rather than foreigners or oligarchs,” Toroczkai said.
