Deepening US-Hungary ties is in the national interest, Lőrinc Nacsa, a junior ruling Christian Democrat MP attending a two-day conference for MPs under the age of 35 organised by the OSCE Delegation to the Capitol told MTI in Washington, DC. Nacsa also met US representatives, government officials, and representatives of pro-family NGOs. The conference focused on deepening security and cooperation. He noted that Hungary takes part in multiple international missions and has been boosting its military spending. Nacsa also met Republican congressional politicians and advisers, as well as the Secretary General of the Young Republican National Federation. He said measures to help persecuted Christians were discussed. “It’s important to take a joint stand against … discrimination against the issue of the persecution of Christians,” he said. He also briefed NGO leaders on the Hungarian family protection policies, adding that Hungarian measures in this area had been received positively in the US.
