Guest nights spent in Hungarian commercial accommodation in May plunged by 92.7% in a yearly comparison, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. The number of nights spent by foreign guests dropped by 98.4% and domestic guest nights were down by 85.9% compared with the same period the previous year. In May total revenue calculated at current prices dropped by an annual 93.4%. In the first five months, guest nights fell by 56.1%, with a total of 4.407 million guest nights spent. Foreign guests spent 59% fewer guest nights while domestic guest nights were down 52.8%. Total revenue shrank by 53.4%, amounting to 87 billion forints (EUR 246.5m) in the January-May period.
