President János Áder has appointed Barnabás Virág deputy governor of the National Bank of Hungary for a six-year term, at the nomination of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. According to information from the president’s office, Virág will take his oath of office on June 23. Virág, the NBH’s managing director for monetary policy and economic analysis, took over the duties of deputy governor temporarily after Márton Nagy, the NBH’s deputy governor for monetary policy, financial stability and lending incentives, resigned from his post on May 28.
