HUNGARY-SLOVAKIA LIFT ALL RESTRICTIONS ON BORDER TRAFFIC

Border crossings between Hungary and Slovakia opened at 8am on Friday free of all restrictions, Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén and Slovak PM Igor Matovič noted at a press conference at Vámosszabadi, in north-western Hungary. This was possible thanks to decisions made by the two countries to take “firm, responsible and timely” measures in response to the novel coronavirus epidemic, Semjén said, noting that Hungary and Slovakia had signed similar agreements with Austria and the Czech Republic on reopening crossing points. Matovič said he was glad to restore unimpeded travel, “which may, to a certain extent, lead us back to normal life”.
