ORBÁN, KÖVÉR COMMEMORATE SPEAKER OF FIRST FREE PARLIAMENT

 

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and House Speaker László Kövér laid wreaths at the grave of György Szabad, the speaker of the first freely elected Hungarian parliament after the fall of communism in 1989. Former Interior Minister Imre Kónya said Szabad, “whom we consider one of the great Hungarians”, researched representative democracy as an academic and worked on implementing it as a public figure.
