SOCIALIST LEADER MOVES TO EXPEL LOCAL COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE

The leader of the Socialist Party has moved to expel from the party a local council representative who has joined the ranks of the ruling Fidesz party. Bertalan Tóth said on Facebook that the Socialists have a policy of zero tolerance of cooperation with Fidesz at all levels. The case concerns Tamás Szentmiklósi-Tóth, the representative of Törökbálint, a town near Budapest. Tóth said that Szentmiklósi-Tóth’s actions in the local council were against the policies and goals of the Socialist Party, and he had wreaked great harm to the forces opposing Fidesz.
