The government is providing the ethnic Slovenian minority government 90 million forints (EUR 270,000) in extra funding this year to help with a kindergarten and school construction programme, as well as to renovate the Catholic church of Apátistvánfalva. Hungarian government support for ethnic minorities is aimed at helping them prosper in the country, Miklós Soltész, state secretary in charge of international relations, said in Apátistvánfalva, in south-western Hungary. Soltész also said that the government is making 500 million forints available for several hundred ethnic civil groups.
