SZIJJÁRTÓ: GOVT TO ENSURE JOBS FOR REDUNDANT ELECTROLUX EMPLOYEES

 

The government has drafted an action plan to make sure that all 800 employees Swedish appliances giant Electrolux plans to lay off will all find jobs, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in Jászberény. Electrolux plans to lay off 800 employees from its plants gradually, starting from next year.
Opening an economic development conference, Szijjártó said the action plan had been prepared in cooperation with the eastern Hungarian city’s mayor, Tamás Szabó, and its MP, János Pócs. The government will support Hungarian companies expanding their capacities and take on the work force, Szijjártó said.
One is a 6.5 billion forint (EUR 19.6m) investment by Rosenberg Hungary expanding its car parts manufacturing capacity. It will create 150 jobs, he said. The other project is a 1.4 billion forint investment to be carried out by the Szatmári company. It will build a warehouse creating 30 jobs. The government will support the investment with 680 million forints, Szijjártó said.
