Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán attended a concert in the synagogue of Subotica (Szabadka), Serbia, marking the first anniversary of the reconstruction of the historic building. Soprano Erika Miklósa, fifteen-year old pianist Soma Balázs-Piri and the Szeged Symphonic Orchestra performed at the concert in the Serbian town near the Hungarian border, local Pannon TV said. The synagogue’s reconstruction was supported by a grant from the Hungarian government.
