EUROTRADE LAYS CORNERSTONE OF 5 MW SOLAR PARK

Hungarian-owned Eurotrade laid the cornerstone of its 5 MW solar park in Környe, in north-western Hungary. Executive manager Attila Szűcs said the 1.6 billion forint (EUR 5m) investment was financed with the company’s own funds and a 10-year loan from Takarékbank. Eurotrade plans to install nearly 20,000 solar panels on an 8 square kilometres area by the end of September. The company expects to recoup its costs within 8-9 years helped by a 20-year electricity purchase contract signed with transmission system operator Mavir. The Eurotrade group is developing 30 MW of solar-powered electricity generating capability, they have more than 300 employees and their revenue neared 15 billion forints in 2018.
