Hungary’s economy will grow by 4% this year before slowing to 3.2% in 2020, according to a forecast released by economic research institute Kopint-Tárki. The 2019 projection is a hairsbreadth below the 4.1% Kopint-Tárki forecast in December. The government’s latest forecasts for GDP growth in 2019 and 2020 are 3.9% and 4%, respectively. Household consumption is set to grow by 4% this year, while investments are likely to grow by 7%. The institute expects nominal wage growth of 8.5%.
