PPI FALLS TO 3.8% IN JANUARY

 

Industrial producer prices rose by 3.8% year-on-year in January, as price growth slowed for the sixth month in a row, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Prices for domestic sales were up by 5.9% while export prices rose by 2.9%. Prices were impacted by higher wages, changes to the forint’s exchange rate and global crude prices. In a month-on-month comparison, industrial producer prices edged down 0.5% as domestic prices inched up by 0.5% and export prices were down 0.9%.
