The government has started talks on Hungary rejoining the Moscow-based International Bank for Economic Cooperation (IBEC), Péter Szijjártó, minister of foreign affairs and trade, said after meeting IBEC Chairman Denis Ivanov in Budapest. Hungary is an open, export-oriented economy with a vested interest in involving foreign funds in financing its economy, with special regard to investment projects and foreign trade, the ministry cited Szijjártó as saying. From this aspect, it was highly important that IBEC had decided to open its regional centre in Budapest, he said.
